MAIN PURPOSE OF THE PLANK EXERCISE IS : To strength your abdominal core muscles.

Plank Instructions and Tips :

  • Get into pushup position and bend your elbows to lower your forearms to the floor.
  • Hold the position with abs braced.

Plank Exercises are good to strength the core muscles which are vital for balance, coordination and support to the entire body and to perform our everyday body movements.

Till I was working as a Professional Gym Trainer a lot of people were asking do they can loose calories, weight and get a flat stomach with only performing this plank exercise ? My answer was and still is the same, you can loose calories, weight, not only with this exercise but also with any other exercise if you perform it well and "enough", I also advice you to perform the vacuum abdominal exercise if your aim is to get a flat stomach without performing a lot of difficult and tough exercises. It is important to know that the number of reps can really help and change the results in a good way for us when our aim is to make definition and loose weight, that is why sprinting is the best way for weight loss - loosing fat, you make more reps in an explosive stressful way for our body, more reps in small amount of time which results in wetting and spending a lot of calories and at the end getting the desired results.

For example every exercise burn different amount of calories so it is important to use your time well and get the right results just on time.

Planks burn more calories than sit-ups and crunches abdominal exercises, because they involve more muscle groups (legs, back, abdominal, and arms).

Good sign is if you are able to perform this exercise between 2 to 3 minutes without stopping. If you're a beginner and if you're not able to do it don't worry just start from 10 seconds or as much as you can handle and keep trying to increase the time so soon or later you will make it happen.

Unfortunately if your aim is to achieve six pack abs using this plank or any other plank exercise I must say - that will never happen at all.

So if that's your aim, then i advice you to perform some other abdominal exercises or use my abs best exercise - workout to get six pack abs really fast.
